How to Choose the Right Family Protection Dog

My Advice After 25 Years of Placing Protection Dogs
The most important question is not “which dog is the strongest?” It is “which dog fits the life this family really has?” A high-drive dog in a quiet home with little time for training will struggle, however impressive it looks in a video.
When I match a dog to a family, I look at who lives in the home, the children and their ages, other pets, how much time the owners have, their experience with dogs and what they expect from the dog day to day. Then I look for the dog whose temperament, energy and level of training fits that picture. Honesty at this stage prevents most problems later.
