City life

A protection dog for California city life

City life puts people close together. Neighbors on the other side of the wall, busy sidewalks, cafés, parking garages and elevators. A protection dog for the city has to be calm first.

That is why control matters more than anything else. Our dogs ignore the noise of normal life, stay focused on you, and respond only when a real threat appears. When you give the command, they stop.

Some clients want a dog for the home and the family. Others want a dog that walks with one person through the day. Rui will help you decide which one fits your life in the consultation.

Questions

Protection dogs in California: your questions

Do you deliver protection dogs to California?

Yes. We sell and deliver fully trained German Shepherd protection dogs across the USA, California included. We arrange the shipping, and personal delivery by one of our trainers, with a full handover, is available.

Can a protection dog live in an apartment or a condo?

A German Shepherd needs daily exercise and time with you, wherever you live. What makes a dog right for the city is calm and control: our dogs have advanced on and off leash obedience and an immediate off-switch on a verbal command.

Family protection dog or personal protection dog?

A family protection dog lives with the household and protects the people in it. A personal protection dog travels closely with one person and adapts to that person’s routine. Rui helps you choose in your consultation.

How is a TYR dog different from a sport dog?

Sport programs teach dogs to target equipment such as sleeves. The Real Defense Protocol prepares dogs to recognize and respond to real human threats, and every dog has an immediate off-switch on a verbal command.

Are there local rules I should know about?

Laws vary by state, county and city, and your building, your insurer or your homeowners association may have rules too. Check them before your dog arrives.
